We had made reservations for a large party and most of the people ended up flaking last minute. For those of us that did show up, it was such a phenomenal experience! From the moment we walked in the doke, we were greeted warmly and shown where we would be dining. Our waiter and one of the managers were phenomena, answering all of our questions and making recommendations based on what we were asking, as this was the first time any of us had dined at Oceano. We appreciated the service so much we have already made a reservation for a future event we will be having as well. Now the food? SUPERB! We found out everything is made to order and it most certainly shows. This hidden gem needs to be broadcasted for everyone to know about. very reasonably priced as well.

Went here on a date. What an amazing place. Food was so good we had the meatballs and butternut soup as our starters, then she had the grilled octopus, and we shared the paella. A must stop place for seafood in Richmond!!! The service was fantastic!!

We had a great time at Oceano last night! Many of us had been to the restaurant that used to occupy this spot and it's very different inside. Very light and airy in comparison. Their menu is very eclectic which was great for our group of 5 who all like different stuff. We started with a few appetizers. The Fritto Misto, meatballs and seared scallops. I could even get a picture because they were gone in seconds. All very good! Our table ordered the Tagliatelle All'Arrabbiata, the Fish stew (it had a brilliant name I can't remember) and fish tacos. There were zero leftovers at the table and we'd all vowed to come back to try different stuff next time. Very very delicious.

Good, but not great. When it comes to a restaurant, I want phenomenal taste and phenomenal value. Here, I can't complain about anything, but it didn't hit that mark for truly the best restaurant in town. Value: 5/10. $100 for two people to receive food that was hitting the "pretty good" taste bar was okay in my opinion. I have spent half as much on better food around town. My "seafood" pasta had one scallop and 3 shrimp. Atmosphere: 9/10. A little loud when busy, but good space for you to take someone for a celebration. Elegant dining. Service: 7/10. Slow but quality service. Wish they could have visited more often for our needs but it was good none the less. True food quality: 7/10. Ignoring price, I was satisfied but not wow'd by the flavor profile of my meal.

One of THE best meals I've ever had! It's a perfect date night spot with a variety of seafood and land food options for every diner. There are many small plate and appetizer choices that you could make that a cozy shareable experience, or sample a few and grab an amazing entree. The place was pretty busy on a Friday night and they had an event in one of the rooms, but we were able to snag a seat at the bar. Reservations might be a good idea too, if you want to avoid having to wait for a table. Food was cooked beautifully and served relatively quickly after ordering. The ONLY thing I was missing was a masterful mixology cocktail menu. They have a couple options, but nothing that screamed particularly unique, which I found strange since the food was so creative. It's definitely a place we'll be returning too though!

This place is amazing, from the service to the ambiance to the actually food. I've driven past this place countless amount of times and never thought about going in until my boyfriend suggested it. The ambiance is very romance, intimate, and quiet. The pricing is a bit on the expensive side. However, the food is delicious. It's totally worth it. My boyfriend got the seafood paella and I got a pasta with shrimp. Both extremely delicious and portions were huge, enough to satiate. Now for the drinks, the waitress suggested the lemon drop to me, which I thought tasted like rubbing alcohol and did not enjoy lol. My boyfriend enjoyed his sangria. overall such a pleasant experience and will be back absolutely five stars.

Incredible food, relaxing atmosphere, and great staff. This is a must visit in the Richmond Area. It is a mix of Spanish, Colombian, and Mexican food. It has a great mix of land and sea dishes. Everyone of tapas we tried were unique and perfectly cooked. We tried the empanadas, ceviche, gambas, calamari, and the lobster mac n cheese. Each one was incredible but the 2 standouts are the gambas and the mac n cheese. The drinks were fresh and well balanced. While all the cocktails we tried were good, the mojito was the standout. All in all Oceano is a must visit for a good night with family and friends.

Out of 3 times I've visited Oceano (all in the last 2 months) I've been consistently met with personable, knowledgeable staff, good service, and deliciously flavorful food that honors the regional cuisine. I love the Mediterranean theme with the South American influences. Highly Recommend: (1) Scallop & Shrimp Tamal, (2) Paella, (3) Gambas al ajillo, (4) Colombian empanadas, (4) roasted cauliflower salad (just trust me here, it slaps), (5) tagliatelle (homemade pasta done right) (6) Fritto Misto - all were perfectly seasoned and prepared (7) shared scallops (8) papas bravas Honorable mention: corvina ceviche (I may be biased, having just returned from Costa Rica, top tier ceviche so I'll give this another try soon); meatballs, burrata, sweet potato crab soup (simple, light flavor, more brothy than creamy) Bonus: Maria was sweet and visited my table when a few of her staff recognized my face on yet another visit. I'm happy to say Oceano might put RVA on the map for a memorable Mediterranean dining experience.

We had a wonderful visit to Oceans. our waitress was darling & thoroughly knew the menu offering us lots of recommendation. We started with the yummy Burrata and Prosciutto salad, sweet potato bisque with crab, and quinoa salad. We enjoyed every bite. There were so many fish entrees it was hard to decide. Two members at the table chose fish ~ Salmon & Black Bass. I ordered a burger which was well seasoned and cooked just as I like. And the last to order was a filet. Our plates were clean. We will be going back.
